What cookies and local storage are
Cookies are small text files a website stores on your device. This Site also uses your browser's local storage, which works similarly but is not sent back to our server automatically. We use both to remember your preferences and to understand how the Site is used.
The choice you're given
When you first visit, a banner asks you to Accept or Decline non-essential cookies. Your answer is saved in your browser's local storage under the key salyant_cookie_consent, with a value of accepted or declined. This choice determines whether Google Analytics is loaded for your visit.
Cookies used on this site
- salyant_cookie_consent (local storage, not a cookie) — remembers your accept/decline choice. Strictly necessary; always set once you make a choice.
- _ga, _ga_*, _gid (Google Analytics) — set only if you accept. Used to distinguish visitors and sessions and measure site usage. Typically expire between 24 hours and 24 months, per Google's default settings.
We don't use advertising or cross-site tracking cookies on this Site.
Third-party cookies
Our booking scheduler is embedded from Cal.com, and our contact form is processed by Formspree. Interacting with either may set cookies belonging to those providers, governed by their own cookie and privacy policies rather than this one.
Managing your preferences
You can change your mind at any time by clearing your browser's stored site data for salyant.co.uk (usually under Site Settings or Privacy in your browser) and reloading the page — the consent banner will reappear. You can also block cookies entirely using your browser's settings, though this may affect how some parts of the Site work.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as the cookies and tools we use change. The date at the top of this page shows when it was last revised. See also our Privacy Policy.
Questions about this policy can be sent to contact@salyant.co.uk.
